Built in 1932, Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Flanagan Hall currently houses administration, classroom, conference and lab space. Habeeb & Associates Architects was first tasked with a study to identify the source of water infiltration through the slate roof and other building envelope elements, and the condition of the adjacent site features including sidewalks, railings and exposed foundations.

After presenting the findings and recommended solutions, H&A completed the design work for a slate roof replacement, the historic restoration of two cupolas including copper work, installation of hurricane-force, wind-resistant doors, repair of settled sidewalks and interior and exterior water-damaged finishes. We also performed accessibility compliance upgrades adding a new entrance ramp.
