The Westborough Public School’s projections for increased enrollment, and their mindfulness for facility repairs and improvements resulted in the hiring of H&A to prepare a feasibility study and then to conduct the resulting recommended renovations.
$26M-worth of renovations and repairs were done to the 110,000 square foot middle school that sits on roughly 20 acres of property, and houses 570 students in grades 7 and 8. Renovations included: science lab and classroom upgrades, auditorium enhancements, plumbing upgrades with ADA-compliant toilet rooms, instructional technology enhancements, and electrical and lighting upgrades throughout the building. Repairs included improving the structural integrity of the building envelope: windows, roofs, and exterior walls, along with ceiling replacement. The project was guided by the MSBA and strictly adheres to state guidelines.
